Textile Engineering
Textile engineering was established in 1981. In 30 years’ development, now it’s national key specialism and key discipline in Hebei Province. As the only one school offering graduate degrees in Hebei Province, it has degree programs for Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Science and Engineering. Textile engineering specialism comprises " Textile engineering", " Textile design and trade " and "Knitting & Garment" professional directions. The former focuses on textile manufacturing technology, while "Textile design and trade " emphasizes on textile design along with skilful operation of textile business. "Knitting & Garment" focuses on knitwear technology. The aim of the specialism is to produce graduates who have sound knowledge of textile products and production process, who are able to apply the knowledge within a technical context; who have the potential to become industrial leaders in product development, process innovation, and production management in textiles.
Upon successful completion of this specialism, students are able to:
(a) apply the principles of design, product development and manufacture within techno-economic context;
(b) adopt innovation and changes in textile industry;
(c) lead their profession for upgrading technological and managerial techniques to improve productivity, product quality and to manage the challenge of the industry and to enhance their understanding of legal, social and ethical issues related to their professional practice.
