Setting Sail Together, Charting a New Chapter: 2025 Freshman Welcoming Ceremony for the Fashion & Apparel Design (Sino-Korean Cooperative Program) Successfully Held

On October 29, 2025, the College of Textiles and Fashion held the freshman welcoming ceremony for the 2025 intake of the Fashion & Apparel Design (Sino-Korean Cooperative Program) in the Academic Lecture Hall. The event was attended by a delegation of three from Sungshin Women's University, Korea, including Mr. Lee Hyung-min, Director of the International External Cooperation Office. Representatives from Hebei University of Science and Technologypresent included Ms. Yan Cuiying, Director of the International Cooperation Office and Dean of the International Education College; Ms. Chen Shuyu, Party Committee Secretary of the College of Textiles and Fashion; and Mr. Zhang Wei, Dean of the college. The ceremony was presided over by Vice Dean Li Min.

At the ceremony, Director Yan Cuiying, on behalf of the university, extended a warm welcome to the Korean delegation. She highlighted that this program, as a high-quality product of the deep collaboration between the two universities, has over more than a decade successfully established a talent cultivation model that integrates the strengths of both China and South Korea with a focus on innovation and practice. Through mechanisms such as dual degrees, international exchanges, and related practical platforms, the program provides students with a high-starting-point, internationalized development path. It has achieved remarkable results in talent development, with graduates enjoying broad prospects.

Outstanding alumna representative Cui Menghan shared her learning journey, which benefited greatly from the cultivation model of both universities. She encouraged the attending freshmen to cherish the opportunity, embrace challenges fearlessly, and strive persistently for their personal dreams. Subsequently, Lee Hyung-min and Moon Yoon-kyung presented school badges and honorary certificates to the outstanding alumni representatives.

During the interactive Q&A session, freshmen actively raised questions on topics of concern such as dual-degree applications, language learning, and overseas internship opportunities. Faculty members from both the Korean and Chinese sides provided detailed answers one by one, creating a lively atmosphere.

This event not only enhanced the freshmen's comprehensive understanding of the cooperative education program but also ignited their enthusiasm for specialized learning and strengthened their confidence in future development.

Also in attendance were Mr. Sun Liang, Vice Dean of the Hebei University of Science and Technology International Education College; the leadership team of the College of Textiles and Fashion; faculty representatives from both the Chinese and Korean sides; outstanding alumni; and all 2025 freshmen of the program.
